11-16-06 was the last time I blogged! Man, I am sorry about that. I guess things get busy. Anyways, let's get you up to date. Jill and Kara's B-day party was a blast (11-18-06). Everyone did their best to look 80s. JP has the tightest shirt from I think 5th grade. Kara had this gaudy green dress that looked like something she stole from her mom's closest. We ate, talked, and played 80s Trivia Pursuit. Being one of the oldest has some advantages when it comes to 80s trivia. I'll try to get some pics from Kara and post them.
Next, the trip to Minnesota. Matt and Amber had an art show at MCAD. We went up their with them and supported the cause. It was pretty interesting. Matt and Amber did really well almost selling all of their art work. With their earnings, we went on a IKEA shopping spree. Matt and Amber went crazy (off course) and got a bed frame, couch, light fixtures, cabinet hardware, you name it. Adrean and I bought a new shelving unit that is almost too big for our house. But we made it fit. Interesting enough, before we went north, there was a hell of a storm in Missouri closing schools and what not. When we headed north, there was no snow to be found. Go figure. In addition, when we hauled all this stuff home in a trailer, Matt and Amber realized that their two-piece couch was two different colors. So, they had to make arrangements to get half of it shipped to them in the correct color. It is all good now.
Next, for me at least, I had a final exam and a final paper for one of my classes. Needless to say, I put it off till the last minute. However, I believe I did fine for the course. I know Jill was all studying and stuff for her exams. She was always MIA till exams were over. Now, she has this glow about her. She must be happy not studying. There is also a new addition for Jill and JP. I'll get to that in a minute.
At the Painter house, we are doing some remolding. Crazy, I know, to have your house in disarray before the holidays, but that's how we do, playa. We added a dishwasher and some additional cabinets. JP was over last night helping me with some dry walling. Let's just say, when you guys buy our house, it will be SWEET!
On a more serious note, Adrean's grandmother, Polly Lesh, is in the hospital. She was feeling real ill so they took her in. Let's just say that she has been in the hospital for about two weeks now in and out of ICU and has had a couple of surgeries. She doing much better now, but she will still be in over the holiday. Hopefully, she'll be well enough to move to an assisted facility after Christmas to go through recovery. Then, sometime in the new year, she'll be able to return home. It has been tough on Steve and Carol and the rest of the brothers and sisters, but they are all hanging in there.
Back to the lighter side. Jill and JP have added a couple of kittens to their household, Canyon and Chase. I'll try to get pics posted later. They are cute, orange kittens, very much like Peanut and Butter. Talking about P&B, a couple of days ago, I guess our cat door got stuck and the kittens were not able to make it to their litter box. Well, I guess the next best thing is to pee on the leather furniture downstairs. Luckily, we cleaned it and use white vinegar to remove the smell, and now all is good. Sonny was not a happy camper, but I can't stay mad at those cute cats.
So, you probably wondering about Adrean and the baby. She is doing well. Getting over the sickness. We will probably get the sonogram and know the sex by the end of January. I'll update you then. Also, we have let everyone know that we are expecting, so you don't have to keep the secret any more. Go ahead and tell all of Africa. I know you have been dying to do so.
That reminds me of a funny story. Since Polly has been in the hospital and drugged up, she hasn't had much discretion. Adrean was sitting with her the other day. Polly was wearing an oxygen mask and having a lot of phlegm. Well, Adrean told her that she also has to wear a breathing mask at night to sleep better and she produces a lot of phlegm. Polly then, out of no where asks, "Do you ever make love with that thing on?" Adrean of course was taken back and started laughing that her grandma would ever ask the question. Adrean responded by dancing around the question and laughing. Adrean tried to compose herself when Polly continued, "Well, have you ever tried?" Needless to say, Adrean continued to avoid the question and said "who knows what happens in the middle of the night." It is pretty funny what drugs will let you say.
Well, that's a lot to read. I am going to post some pics tonight. Be on the look out. Miss you guys.
Take care. Sonny

Sonny,
I just realized that we can leave comments. I just wanted to let you know that we love reading what you have posted. We try to check the website most every time we make it to an internet cafe. We are not really able to watch the videos but that's okay. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Peace out,
Jeff (& Emily)
